Tablecloth Care Instructions

Most of our tablecloths are machine washable. For best results follow the general guidance below, and the fabric-specific notes that follow.

General Washing

  • Machine wash on a gentle cycle with cold water.
  • Use a mild detergent. Do not use bleach — it weakens fibres and damages color.
  • Wash similar colors together; wash dark colors separately the first time.
  • Do not overload the machine — tablecloths need room to circulate.

Fabric-Specific Care

  • Polyester: machine wash cold, tumble dry on low. Touch up with a low iron if needed.
  • Satin: machine wash cold on a gentle cycle. Hang dry. Iron inside-out on low heat.
  • Velvet: spot clean or dry clean for best results. Never wring or twist — it will mark the pile. Steam to refresh the nap.
  • Cotton / Linen: machine wash warm, tumble dry medium. Iron while slightly damp for the crispest finish.
  • Sequin / Embellished: hand wash cold or dry clean. Lay flat to dry.

Stain Removal

  • Red wine: blot (don't rub), sprinkle with salt or club soda, then launder cold.
  • Candle wax: let harden, scrape off the excess, then place a paper towel over the spot and run a warm iron over it.
  • Food stains: pre-treat with a stain remover before washing.
  • Oil/grease: sprinkle with cornstarch or talc, let it sit 15 minutes, brush off, then launder.

Ironing

For best results, iron while slightly damp. Use the lowest heat that smooths your fabric. Steam ironing is gentler on synthetics and embellished fabrics.

Storage

Store clean and dry. Fold flat in a cool, dry place — or, for the best appearance long-term, roll on a fabric tube to avoid permanent creases.
