Three different kinds of thing cannot share one return rule, so this page gives three answers. The short version is at the top; the detail is underneath.
The short version
We sell three different kinds of thing, so they cannot share one return rule. What we cut and sew for you is final sale. What we cut off the roll can come back uncut. Finished pieces can come back unused.
Custom tablecloths
Final sale
Cut and sewn for you after you order, so there is nothing to resell if it comes back. This is the one world with no returns and no exchanges — which is exactly why we push the $1.00 sample so hard, and why we would rather talk about a size on the phone than have you guess.
WindowNo return window — final sale
ConditionNot applicable
RefundOnly where the fault is ours: damaged, wrongly cut, or the wrong color sent.
Fabric by the yard
2 weeks, uncut
Cut fabric can come back as long as you have not cut into it or washed it. Once it has been cut down or made up, it is yours — we cannot sell a part-used piece to anyone else. Samples are not returnable and never need to be; they are yours to keep.
Window2 weeksConditionUncut, unwashed, in the state it reached you
RefundRefund of the goods less a 15% restocking fee, once it arrives back with us. Return shipping is paid by you.
Home & Bath
2 weeks, unused
These arrive finished and ready to use, so they go back the way most shop-bought things do: unused, in their packaging, within the window. If the packaging has been opened but the piece is unused, tell us and we will usually still take it.
Window2 weeksConditionUnused, in its original packaging
RefundFull refund of the goods once it arrives back with us — no restocking fee. Return shipping is paid by you.
If something is wrong with it
A different matter entirely, and the world does not come into it. If a cloth arrives damaged, wrongly cut, or not the color you ordered, that is ours to put right — write to info@clothandlinen.com with a photograph and we will remake it or refund it. Final sale has never meant “bad luck”.
Where to send a return
Write to us first so we know it is coming, then send it to:

The honest advice
Most returns we see are about color, not quality — a Taupe that read warmer on screen, a Navy that went black in a dim room. A $1.00 sample is a dollar against that risk, and it is the one thing we recommend to everybody.
